The 1st Fredericton BPSA (Scouting) at Brunswick Street Baptist Church is organizing a food and cleaning supplies drive for the Fredericton Community Kitchens and have been doing so annually for over 20 years.
Otters, Timberwolves and Woodsmen will deliver a notice and a grocery bag (supplied by Co-Op every year since they started) to each home in the area a few days before the drive. The notice will explain how homeowners can help by placing food and cleaning supplies in the bag provided and leave it on their step in front of their home on Saturday morning when the Scouting groups will be around to pick up the bags.
The city of Fredericton has granted them permission to carry out the food drive in the specific area this year on April 22nd, the area will include the hill area from the west side of York Street to Odell Park including all streets on the west side of Smythe St. The northern border is the south side of Dundonald St., the southern border is the north side of Priestman St.
