Volunteers are vital to our operations. More than 250 individuals donate their time to our organization each month, however we are in need of more help.
All volunteers receive an orientation before volunteering. During the orientation process we review the mandate, activities, and key partnerships of the Kitchen. We also review safety information related to working in a licensed kitchen facility.
It is important to us that our Volunteers have opportunity not only to support our mandate, but to have an outlet for connecting with other volunteers and their community at large.
There are many ways in which to contribute:
In the Kitchen - assisting with meal prep, meal service, dishwashing, cleaning, laundry, pantry organization
Volunteer shifts in the Kitchen:
- Breakfast: (7:00 am – 8:30 am)
- Lunch: (8:30 am – 1:00 pm)
- Supper: (3:00 pm – 6:30 pm)
In our Office – helping with administration
On our Board of Directors or on a Committee – fundraising, human resources, finances, volunteer coordination, events coordination
As part of our Learn ‘n Serve Program, we welcome group volunteering. Churches, service clubs and businesses can donate time on a one-time basis or a rotational basis in support of our agency and often in pursuit of their own team-building efforts. We will come to your organization to present a mini-orientation to your members or employees in advance of your volunteering and can assist with fundraising initiatives that may be of interest.
