Luanna Dugas - Smiles Behind The Masks
#smilesbehindthemasks
How long have you been a part of this organization?
6 years!
What drove your desire to start working with the Kitchens?
I have always wanted to help others and found this to be a way to do so!
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding aspect is the connections that are formed with the staff/guests and board members.
What's your favourite memory from your time at the Kitchens?
My favorite memories are of time spent and conversations with those who enter our doors.
What are your hopes for the future of the Kitchens?
My hopes for the Kitchens are that we continue to grow in ways we perhaps have not thought of in the past. That people may be welcomed into our safe facility and be fed a nutritious meal. That the kids receiving our food know that it is prepared with love.
What do you want the Fredericton Community to know about the Kitchens?
I would encourage people to give back and get out of their comfort zone by volunteering with the Kitchens, maybe during a meal service. By understanding the organization at its grassroots level, it will allow you to get a better understanding of the bigger picture and the goals and visions of the Kitchens.
What's a fun fact about you not many people would know?
I am an international renowned Nose Tuner player.
