More than 40 years ago, a group of concerned citizens came together to discuss the growing problem of hunger in Fredericton. As a result, on December 8, 1982, the organization opened its doors for the first time, serving a noon-time meal.

Since then the services provided have grown considerably. The evening meal was added in 2000; a breakfast meal was added in 2006; and outreach services began in 2011 in the form of meal delivery to the north side of the city.

In 2014 a school lunch program began and now hundreds of healthy lunches are being delivered daily to students in several schools. A healthy lunch is essential to students reaching their full academic potential and having the energy to learn and engage in their studies.  All of our services rely on the citizens of Fredericton as we are funded in large part by donations.

We developed partnerships with agencies across our community to collectively address food security. We continue to enhance our partnerships to ensure no one goes hungry in Fredericton.
